Our Sitters

At Lulu's we have been fortunate to find cat sitters who are passionate about taking care of cats, learning about their personalities and tailoring their approach to each kitty that they meet.

Our philosophy is that the cats should set the stage for how we spend our time with them. We let the kitties come to us and let us know what they want and need.

Becky Lucas-Ryder (Siegfried)

Becky, the founder and owner of Lulu's Kitty Care is a high school history teacher in Chicago. The name Lulu actually comes from a nickname given to her by her students. The name stuck and seemed like a perfect name for her business venture. Lulu's has been in operation since 2005, but Becky cared for cats professionally for 3 years before starting her own company. She currently divides her time between teaching, taking care of her son and three kitties and running Lulu's.

Therese Grisham

Therese Grisham

Therese Grisham teaches humanities and film studies at Oakton Community College. As a kid, her greatest passion was trying to understand why animals behave the ways they do, and she has been carefully watching her various pet cats interact ever since. She is awed by cats' movements, silent and vocal communication with humans and other cats, their sweetness, and of course, their eccentricities. As her housemates, she has had the two Blue Boys, rescue cats named Max and Bruno.

Mike Pecucci

Mike Pecucci

From the day Mike moved into his first apartment at 17, his life has included cats of all sorts... some were rescues, some had health issues, some just showed up! He learned about and loved cat care and became a go-to guy whenever friends and family needed someone to care for their cats and feel confident they were in good hands. He currently has these 2 characters, an energetic brother and sister pair, Satchmo and Stella.

Joann Seastrom

Joann Seastrom

Once Joann was allowed to get a cat she never want back. She is never without one or two or more. She adores her quirky cats and is honored that they love her. Joann has been a cat caretaker for many years. She started cat sitting for friends and neighbors in the 1990’s. She's been a foster mom for Anti-Cruelty, and has done volunteer work for Treehouse and PAWS. She has also helped with TNR (trap-neuter-return) in Chicago and estimates that she's rescued over 100 cats.
