Our Sitters

Michelle Mashon has been teaching and making art in Chicago since 2000. She's also been a dog walker, graphic designer, set designer and event planner, an all around "jackie-of-all-trades", who has also added cat-sitting to her list of services. She grew up in New Orleans with her cat Pearl, who has been through two floods and braved Hurricane Katrina solo. (Needless to say, Pearl is one tough 17-year old cat). Most recently, she became adoptive mommy to a 5 month old kitten named Ichi who lost her mittens out in the January cold and brings her new keeper great joy.

Rob Ryder is a graduate student at Northwestern University. When he is not working on his dissertation and teaching, he loves to sit with his pipe and read a book or play his French horn. While growing up, his family had a number of cats. Now he doesn’t have a cat of his own, but wishes he could. Cat sitting is one of the best ways to pretend he has one.

Bob Kos is a retired High School History teacher. He taught in the Chicago Public Schools for the past 36 years. He loves pets and for most of the past 37 years has always owned two cats and a dog. Bob's son calls him the dog whisperer because he now spends a few days a month visiting senior centers with his dog Snickers. His cats Samantha and Midnight enjoy sitting in his lap and sharing his meal especially if it's chicken or turkey from the grill. Bob's pets get along with each other because they are loved and always cared for, they are very affectionate and love people.

Lulu's is also a family affair...

Bill Lucas is a former teacher who has been working for Lulu's since his retirement 2 years ago.  When he retired he decided that he would put the 43 years of experience living with and taking care of family pets
to good use.  He's had cats all along and feels that they are something special and deserve to be treated as such. He feels that the process of getting to know the personalities of the cats he sits for is a great
treat.  Bill's patient attitude with cats and their needs has made him an incredible asset to Lulu's.

Jessica Lucas is an artist working in Chicago.  Her work has been displayed in several galleries in the city, including the three that she began and operated as co-ops.  Her work is a as versatile as she is and she is currently working on trading card art, often depicting cats in all of their glory.  Jessica has had vast experience working and living with cats.  After owning over 15 cats in the course of her lifetime,
she's worked for Lulu's for the past 2 years caring for the cats of others.  She is as patient and loving with all of her kitty clients as she is with her own cats, a pride of unique and gorgeous Abyssinians.

Becky Lucas, the founder and owner of Lulu's Kitty Care is a high school history teacher in Chicago.  The name Lulu actually comes from a nickname given to her by her students.  The name stuck and seemed like a perfect name for her business venture.  Lulu's has been in operation for 2 1/2 years, but Becky has been caring for cats professionally for 5 years.  She worked for two other agencies before striking out on her own.  She divides her time between school, her
feline clients and her own spoiled and EXTREMELY vocal cats.  She has enjoyed building Lulu's from the original clientele who followed Becky to Lulu's to include a wealth of great new clients and their fantastic pets.
